Cleaner than ever: our clean room is now ISO 14644-1 Class 6
Big news: Alpine Bearing is now able to meet even more exacting bearing re-lubrication and re-packaging needs in our clean room! Filter Sales and Service is delivering Alpine’s updated certification – an ISO 14644-1 Class 6 classification for our clean room in Boston.
The recertification from Class 7 to Class 6 speaks to Alpine’s cleanliness, quality management, and commitment to continuous improvement. We’ve been re-lubricating bearings in our clean room since the 1990s. From the beginning, we’ve focused on delivering ever more precise, fast, and high-quality re-lubrication and re-packaging services.
We know it’s hard to find a bearing re-lubrication or re-packaging facility that meets the stringent demands of industries like aerospace or medical devices. This certification helps us meet even more of those demands for a variety of applications.
We’re proud to add this certification to our other formal certifications:
- Certified re-lubrication facility for New Hampshire Ball Bearing (NHBB) since 1998
- Certified re-lubrication facility for Nippon Miniature Bearing (NMB)
- Certified trained lubrication technicians for GRW Bearing
Filter Sales and Service, which originally built our clean room, retested the facility for the certification. To test how effectively our clean room worked, it had to be “at rest” – with no people in it. Then, filtration professionals took air quality readings and compared them with the industry standard.
About our Class 6 clean room
Our upgrade from Class 7 to Class 6 means we now limit the quantity of particles as small as 0.1. To meet ISO 14644-1 Class 6 standards, our clean room uses 150-240 air changes per hour. Unlike some other ISO 6 cleanrooms, Alpine uses Class 100 laminar bench workstations.
What this means for you is that the bearings we customize, service, and repackage for you will have extremely low levels of exposure to dust and other particles. This cleanliness keeps bearings running smoothly for longer, protecting your equipment and your budget.
