NACHI
For superior bearings for machining, industrial, and other equipment applications, look no further than Nachi. Alpine has been carrying Nachi’s excellent machine tool spindle and deep groove ball bearings since 2000. They also make precision cutting tools, hydraulics, machine tools, robots and tool steel. They know their way around machines.
In 1928, Kohki Imura founded a hacksaw blade manufacturer in Toyama, Japan. The company took the name Nachi-Fujikoshi after Emperor Showa judged their hacksaws to be an outstanding domestic product. They named themselves after Showa’s naval cruiser “Nachi.” “Fuji” comes from a Buddhist scripture about seeing the true nature of objects and “koshi” indicates the Japan Sea coast. The company quickly grew. They started making precision cutting tools, published Japan’s first tool catalog and opened a research institute. By 1938, Nachi had opened a specialty steel mill to produce materials for their tools. The next year, they started manufacturing ball bearings.
Because they mill and process their own steel, they know the materials they’re working with intimately. That knowledge lets them heat treat their products to exactly the right hardness and ductility. As a result, Nachi’s bearings are high-speed, high-precision, and durable even at the smallest sizes. Nachi maintains rigorous quality standards. Their parent company won the Deming Prize for Total Quality Management. DQS registered their quality systems to the ISO 9001,14000 and IATF 16949 Standards.
The company’s mission is to contribute to the progress of the world of product manufacture. We believe they have, and that’s why we stock their bearings.
