Alpine Bearing is pleased to welcome Luke Phillips to the team as our new Lead Application Engineer. Luke brings a strong background in aerospace application engineering, advanced bearing analysis, customer support and engineering design, further strengthening Alpine’s ability to provide customers with the technical expertise and application support they need.
Luke joins Alpine with experience as an Aerospace Application Engineer at The Timken Company, where he performed detailed stress and life analysis of advanced bearings across a range of demanding aerospace applications, including missile guidance, aircraft landing systems, helicopters, space and fixed wing aircraft. His experience also includes reviewing customer drawings and specifications, bearing design, manufacturing feasibility, lubrication, damage analysis as well as research and development.
His engineering background is complemented by experience with Schaeffler, where he worked in application engineering, engineering analysis and tool design. During these assignments, Luke worked with aerospace-grade bearings, lubrication processes, clean room requirements, finite element analysis, material behavior and detailed engineering drawings.
Building a Stronger Team to Serve Our Customers
Luke’s addition comes at an exciting time for Alpine Bearing. As our customers’ applications become increasingly specialized and technically demanding, having experienced engineering expertise available to support bearing selection, application requirements and technical problem solving is more important than ever.
In his role as Lead Application Engineer, Luke will work closely with Alpine customers and our internal team to better understand application requirements, evaluate technical challenges and help identify bearing solutions that meet specific performance needs.
His background in aerospace engineering and advanced bearing applications brings another level of technical capability to Alpine, while his experience working directly with OEM and MRO customers aligns closely with Alpine’s customer-focused approach. At Timken, Luke supported many different OEM and MRO customers across advanced aerospace applications.
Continuing to Raise the Bar
At Alpine Bearing, growth is about more than expanding our capabilities. It is about continually improving the level of service, expertise and support we provide to our customers. As Alpine continues to invest in people, technology, facilities and capabilities, we are building an even stronger organization around the needs of our customers.
